  • About the Southern DHB

We are responsible for planning, funding and providing health and disability services to a population of over 315,000 located South of the Waitaki River.

Our catchment area encompasses Invercargill City, Queenstown - Lakes District, Gore, rural Southland, Clutha, Central Otago, Maniototo, Waitaki District and Dunedin City.

This means Southern DHB serves the largest geographic region of all New Zealand's Health Boards.

We have a vacancy coming up for a permanent Health Care Assistant to join our team. It is important that you are motivated, flexible, have a level of maturity and of course plenty of enthusiasm.

Experience working with people in a caring capacity is also essential. If you have high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, good organisational skills and a proven ability to carry out manual tasks, we would love to hear from you! It is also essential that you can communicate clearly and concisely and have a positive attitude towards work.

Ideally, you are an experienced Health Care Assistant and will be familiar with the activities assigned to you. You must be available to work Monday to Sunday rostered shifts.

If you have previous experience working in health / disability settings or with the general public, this would be an advantage.
