What You Will Do
The Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering invites applications for a Lecturer (Teaching and Administration only) in Environmental Engineering to teach fundamental environmental engineering concepts to Year 2 engineering students.
Topics you will cover include : mass balances and reaction kinetics, ideal & non-ideal reactors, and introduction to drinking water and wastewater treatment.
An ability to support teaching in solid and hazardous waste, and ecological engineering and ecosystems, would also be an advantage.
As a Lecturer (Teaching and Administration only) you will be supported by other staff in use of University of Canterbury systems.
Teaching will involve a combination of lecturing, setting assignments, overseeing assessments, and participating in tutorials and laboratories and support in the form of marking and laboratory assistance will be provided.
Mōu Who You Are
You will have experience in engineering education and a demonstrated understanding of delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed.
Desirably you will also hold (or be near completion) a PhD or equivalent (NZQA Level 10) qualification.
This is a fantastic opportunity for early career academics and less experienced teachers as assistance and support can be provided by UC staff.
