  • About the Team

    We are a team of professionals who provide a full range of health and development services for children aged between 0 and 16 years (with a focus on 0-5 years) and their whanau in Southland.

    We provide a service for :

  • Children / young people who have been identified as having a physical, sensory, or intellectual disability that is likely to last longer than 6 months
  • Children at risk of developing a disability
  • or have developmental delay

    e.g. premature babies)

    We work in partnership with many other community agencies.

    About the Role what’s in it for me?

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our Child Development team at Southland Hospital.

    We are seeking a motivated and personable individual to work alongside our Allied Health clinicians in providing therapy input and support for infants and children as outpatients, in their homes and in the community.

    With the supervision of a registered Therapist, you will oversee and assist children / whanau with their treatment and rehabilitation programmes as well as organise collection and delivery of equipment.

    About You

    We are looking for a proactive individual with some experience working with families / children from all walks of life, who enjoys a team environment and is willing to learn new skills.

    It is desirable that you have already attained the NZQA Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing-Health Assistance Strand.

    If not, this is to be completed within 2 years of commencement or to be commenced within 1 year of employment.
