The Government is currently reviewing the threewaters services across New Zealand and building a system that meets the needsand expectations of our communities, now and into the future.

Every day an average of 13.5 million litres of wateris provided to urban Masterton for safe drinking and sanitation and 13 millionlitres of wastewater flows into our Homebush wastewater treatment plant.

We have an outstanding opportunity for twotechnically minded people to learn on the job and get qualified in an industrythat is in an exciting period of transformation.

We are looking for two enthusiastic, reliable, andmotivated people with great attitudes, to join our Water and Wastewatertreatment team in the role of Technician - Cadet.

You will be expected to hold, or be willing to worktowards Level 4 NZ Certificate in Water Treatment. You will have full supportand on the job training from a dedicated and knowledgeable team that managesand operates the water systems of our District.

As a Cadet, you don’t need specific experience in theindustry, however it is important to have a genuine interest and commitment tolearning about the process of treating water.

To thrive in our operational andphysically demanding environment, you will need to be flexible, enjoy hands-onactivity, problem solving and will be comfortable working with technology.

In return you will learn new skills through astructured training programme, including gaining an industry standard levelfour qualification in water treatment.
