Reporting directly to the Comptroller / Chief Executive and a senior member of the Customs Executive Board (CEB), the Group Manager People and Capability helps lead and govern the organisation while ensuring that the strategic direction for Customs is supported by the Workforce strategy.
You will oversee the effective and efficient management of the People and Capability group, supporting and integrating with the service delivery groups in Customs.
You will be performance and delivery driven. You will have sophisticated relationship management skills that enable you to operate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
This is a pivotal and influential role requiring a candidate with significant experience in leading a Human Resources team.
You will be able to demonstrate your strategic leadership capabilities and your communication and engagement strategies.
You will be responsible for the teams and programmes that drive substantial cultural change, including improving customer service and increasing organisational capability.
You may have a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development or a similar academic discipline.
Applicants are required to be Permanent Residents or Citizens of New Zealand with 5 years checkable history. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a drug test and Customs Security Clearance.
