    We are looking to appoint a Manager who will be responsible for leading the team in a collaborative way to ensure the successful implementation of the delivery of capital works programmes and projects carried out on behalf of the Crown.

    This role requires a great attitude, good communication skills, an ability to deliver, and a desire to get great outcomes to improve the well-being of New Zealanders.

    The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and disability system in New Zealand. We are responsible for providing active stewardship and leadership across the nation's health and disability system.

    We ensure the system provides people with the highest levels of care, regardless of who they are or where they live.

    Within the Ministry of Health we have established a Health Infrastructure Unit to help support and guide health capital strategy and management over the next decade.

    This new exciting area has responsibility for oversight of District Health Board capital business cases, service planning and asset management, as well as the delivery of some of the key capital redevelopments (including new hospitals) across the country.

    This is challenging but rewarding work to deliver important health infrastructure projects. Health infrastructure has a vital role in ensuring New Zealanders have access to high quality health services.

    To be successful in this role we require the following :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and / or work experience relevant to portfolio, programme, project and PMO management.
  • Experience establishing and managing PMO functions and teams, preferably involving capital works in a Government environment
  • Natural team building skills and demonstrated track record leading a team delivering PMO services or functions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and drive a strategic agenda.
