    The Roles :

    Our Development Planning team facilitates a wide range of development projects, from major subdivision and significant infrastructure projects to apartment buildings, retirement villages, and shopping centres.

    You will have a lead role in influencing, shaping and reviewing these complex development proposals, while collaboratively working with multi-

    disciplinary teams across Auckland Transport to provide expert advice to developers and Auckland Council.

    As a Principal Planner, you will play a key role in mentoring and facilitating the development of junior team members and sharing your knowledge and expertise across a number of workstreams.

    It is a fast paced and exciting area of planning, full of opportunities for people keen on tackling some key challenges, trying new things, and making big decisions for the benefit of future Aucklanders.

    What We Need :

    We are looking for urban planners who are dynamic, show initiative and will take responsibility for identifying opportunities and delivering results.

    Our ideal candidates will have :

  • Experience in land use planning and, resource management planning, supported by a qualification in Planning, Transport Planning / Engineering or other related discipline
  • Experience in preparing applications or processing resource consents is desirable
  • An excellent understanding and knowledge of urban planning policies, the Resource Management Act, and local government legislation
  • Expertise in engaging and partnering with a range of stakeholders and a strong focus on customer service
  • Strong problem solving skills, including ability to develop and apply frameworks for making trade-offs between competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
