We have an opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst Contractor for 8 months to support a large scale Prophet Model migration for a broad range of life insurance products.

The role will require product feature analysis, data preparation, results analysis and Prophet coding. You will be working closely with the Model Development team in Finance.

Key responsibilities of the role :

  • Prophet model maintenance and development
  • Build data analytics capabilities utilising software such as SQL, R and Tableau
  • Lead and provide support to special projects including IFRS17
  • Support financial and regulatory reporting
  • Support solvency and capital management
  • Model governance and validation
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Student member of an Actuarial Professional body. (in NZ this is NZSA, but could be others if overseas)
  • Technically strong Actuarial capabilities and experience
  • Financial services industry experience (ideally life or health insurance, but other financial services experience will also be considered)
  • Intermediate to advanced Prophet skills
  • Strong programming skills. Familiarity with SQL, R, Tableau or other relevant platforms is preferable
  • Strong business acumen and ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Highly motivated and results driven
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage with non-actuarial stakeholders and business partners
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Depending on background, a range of candidates will be considered, from early stages of actuarial exams through to newly qualified
