    About the team

    Within our collaborative Grid Delivery division, the Planning Scheduling and Optimisation Team is accountable for creating and managing an optimised plan for work being undertaken on New Zealand's National Grid.

    The team works closely with delivery teams and asset planning teams, along with external service providers, to ensure work is programmed, planned and scheduled in a manner that ensures consistent service for our customers while being delivered efficiently and with minimal impact on our communities.

    About the role

    We have an opportunity for a Works Scheduler to join our team based in Otara, South Auckland.

    Working in a fast-paced environment you will work alongside Service Delivery Managers, Service Providers, Outage Planners, Programme Managers, and project teams to produce and monitor a rolling plan of work on the grid.

    You'll put your planning, time management and collaborative skills to great use to manage asset data, provide reporting and ensure efficient delivery of planned work to meet the needs of our customers.

    As a Works Scheduler, you'll support the opex work delivered by the regional service teams and provide integration with regional capex work to create one plan to ensure a better outcome for the region - ensuring we do the right work at the right time!

    You'll encounter many areas of our business - from working with internal planning, finance and project teams through to field works and relationship management with our service providers - and become a subject matter expert in progressing work activities through our work management systems.

    On any given day you can expect to :

  • Work with service providers to plan and schedule resources to achieve optimal delivery of the Work Plan
  • Consult with Service Delivery Managers, service providers and project managers to ensure efficient delivery of work
  • Collate and maintain the plan (short, medium and long-term) to ensure it is up-to-date and provides a complete view of the total pipeline of work
  • Manage asset data - keeping it updated and aligned with outages
  • Track work progress in line with budget allocations
  • To be considered, your CV and covering letter will demonstrate :

  • 3+ years' experience with planning and scheduling of work programmes
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in facilitating problem resolution with multiple groups and competing interests
  • Data management and interrogation expertise
  • Commercial mindset to ensure work undertaken is cost effective, timely and focused on quality outcomes
  • Experience with financial and performance reporting (desirable)
  • A tertiary-level qualification, relevant to the electricity industry or Work Management and planning, is essential.
