Right now, we’re looking for enthusiastic people who will be new to the health sector, with a can-do’attitude and a passion for caring, who are keen to learn more about a career inthe health sector by joining our team as part of our Kaiāwhina (Health CareAssistant) workforce.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role wherethere is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!

Working under the direction and supervision of registered health professionals, you will assist us toprovide the best care and support to our whānau of patients as they transitionthrough the hospital to access our services.

Your day could involve anything toassist the day-to-day experience of patients, including providing patients withkai, interacting with them and their whānau, transporting patients through thehospital or in community services, and screening visitors to Timaru Hospital.

We have a number of these fixed-term opportunities until October 2022, with full-time and part-time hours available. Therefore your hours will be on a rostered / rotating pattern of shifts including, Day, Afternoon and Nights on W eekdays and Weekends.

If you can also champion Tikaka Māori and Te Reo whileworking to support our team of health professionals then we would really liketo hear from you, however this is not a requirement for our Kaiāwhina position (HealthCare Assistant).
