The successful candidate must be a member of the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS). Our Audiology department is looking for applicants for a permanent full time Audiologist role based at Palmerston North hospital.

The Palmerston North Hospital Audiology department provides a comprehensive rehabilitation and diagnostic service for children and adults, with the opportunity to work in specialised areas including a complex paediatric caseload, electrophysiological assessments and bone anchored hearing aid assessment and fitting.

The Audiology department is a team environment who works closely with the Newborn Hearing Screeners, Ministry of Education Advisors on Deaf Children and the Ear Nose and Throat Specialists.

Applicants must have completed a Master's degree in Audiology, or have an equivalent qualification recognized by the New Zealand Audiological Society.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has completed the NZAS Clinical Competency Certificate and Paediatric qualification.

This position could suit an audiologist working in the private sector who is looking for a new challenge, or a new graduate with an interest in developing a broad foundation in clinical practice.

Applicants must also have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal & written communication, and the ability to work well within a team.

Competent IT skills and a driver's license are preferred. Palmerston North in the Manawatu is a beautiful location, with all modern services and luxuries expected of vibrant cities, including a shopping plaza, a Globe theatrical center, the Regent and Centre Point theatres, and dozens of hotels / motels giving Palmerston North a reputation as a conference hub.

Palmerston North tertiary education is provided by Massey University and the International Pacific College. We have excellent primary, intermediate and secondary schooling, both public and private, mixed and single sex.

Cost of living is reasonable, housing very affordable, and rural living with stunning views only minutes from town is very achievable.

Those looking for outdoor adventure are well served with excellent hiking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing rivers, hunting parks, camping sites and beaches all in close proximity.
