Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This position will provide financial, commercial and strategic advice and recommendations to the GM Corporate Finance regarding major strategies and markets, projects, business cases and investment decisions.

To dive down another layer this role is an integral part of the diverse Corporate Finance team which is responsible for delivering key enterprise-wide programmes including corporate strategy, risk, investor relations, internal and external capital allocation, commodity risk management while providing economic and strategic analysis and insights to support portfolio management and financial investment decisions across the business so there is scope to further specialise and lead these core disciplines.

  • Exciting huh?! Here’s a couple of other things you’ll be tasked with;
  • You will be responsible for assessing the impact on Contact’s portfolio of new renewable projects, their impact on the market, demand growth opportunities and M&A activity;
  • you will provide the necessary financial analysis that will enable Contact to appropriately allocate scarce capital across a range of growth opportunities.

  • You will also provide advice and inform discussions on key issues such as financial performance, capital structure, dividend payments, and funding arrangements and options.
  • The role will lead the financial analysis for significant business cases and investment decisions and oversee and manage projects that have significant financial and strategic implications for the business.
  • This position has significant exposure to executive leadership and will be a key stakeholder in the M&A program including market research, financial analysis, valuations.
  • Qualifications

    There’s no substitute for real world practical experience in your area of expertise. That’s why we’re really motivated to read on your application how you have had built and managed financial models, and an expert level understanding of corporate finance and valuation related concepts coupled with having developed and applied corporate finance and strategy related concepts and methodologies to successful outcomes.

    Your background will be in financial advisory services in a CA corporate finance team, investment banking, management consulting, or similar corporate background.

  • Financial modelling, project evaluation, investment analysis and M&A will set you apart from the rest. Additionally you’ll;
  • be able to clearly convey complex information to suit different audiences including the Board, Senior Management, colleagues and other business units.
