The roleThe People Leader Mental Health Programs is responsible for two teams - Whītiki Tauā (virtual mentoring) and Puāwaitanga (brief intervention counselling).

For Whītiki Tauā, the role will provide leadership in building a new service and team of mentors that will deliver an exceptional mentoring experience for rangatahi an opportunity to shape and drive a positive, collaborative workforce.

For the established Puāwaitanga team, the role will provide leadership in maintaining exceptional service and clinical delivery, including service developments and improvements as identified.

Your backgroundWe are looking for someone with proven leadership experience who can influence and motivate others in a positive and constructive way, can work effectively with people from a wide range of different cultures, and who always uses sound judgement to communicate and resolve issues effectively.

To carry out this role effectively, you'll need : Qualification in a relevant field e.g. counselling, addictions, social work, psychology, psychotherapy - EssentialRegistration with a relevant professional body would be favourable but not essential5+ years’ experience working in a mental health and addictions roleIdeally, experience within a telehealth or eTherapy settingIdeally, experience within an appointment based therapeutic settingAt least 2-3 years of management / supervisory experience and / or relevant management qualificationsYour Personal attributesConfidently able to hold appropriate coaching, behaviour and performance conversations with team members.

Able to navigate, support, follow and lead change management initiativesConfident with technologyProven ability to lead process and service delivery improvementConfident with driving service performance through managing against daily, weekly and monthly key performance indicators.
