We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Field Service Engineer , based in Christchurch, to work on a variety of technical solutions across our commercial sites in NZ, with a focus on BMS project delivery.

This role is about creating solutions that enable our customers to keep their buildings operating safely, efficiently and comfortably.

It is the bringing together of different products and solutions relevant to their industry. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the renewals are delivered to date, to budget and to specification.

This role is a key role within the service team and responsibilities will include engineering delivery to a high standard, and working within an engineering and commissioning team during project delivery.

  • Key Responsibilities include;
  • To keep abreast of site and customer needs by continued development of customer relationships
  • Providing technical support to peers, which may include other technical representatives, Account Managers, Engineers etc.
  • Identifying sales and service opportunities
  • To keep technical knowledge current may require additional activities, such as self-learning on technical products
  • Keep customer fully informed of possible system enhancements and upgrade paths
  • Engineer will recognise appropriate situations when technical reports should be produced for customers e.g. when a difficult problem is remedied :

  • In depth knowledge of BMS systems, preferably Honeywell EBI and ComfortPoint
  • In depth knowledge of BMS control theory
  • In depth knowledge of BMS plant operation, tuning, fault finding and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of networking
  • Good understanding of the financial aspects of engineering
  • Project management skills
  • Degree in an engineering discipline; Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Good understanding of the financial aspects of engineering.
  • Exceptional PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with direct customer contact.
  • Good understanding of commercial work environment
  • Strong team player
  • Outstanding communications skills. The ability to communicate complex issues concisely and with clarity, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
  • Electrical license (preferred)
