ABOUT THE ROLE : We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our close-knit team based in Penrose, supporting the Sales & Distribution arm of the Business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial support including managing bank reconciliations, month end processes, GL reconciliation, balance sheets, financial reporting / analysis, GST returns and maintaining financial records.

You will also assist the team in providing compliance advice and support to the company, including internal policies and procedures and compliance with statutory accounting / taxation standards.

ABOUT YOU : This role is a true stepping stone to paving an established career path within Laminex and the wider Fletcher Building Group.

Supported by an experienced team who can mentor you, you will have the aspiration to develop and further your career as well as :

  • You may be developing confidence as a Financial Accountant with 1-2 years’ experience under your belt or perhaps still studying towards your CA status
  • Desirable would be your solid track record in financial accounting or financial auditing from either a large corporate or a Big 4 Accounting firm
  • Your proactive and innovative approach will be key to your success, as will your ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation with a variety of stakeholders
  • You will have experience or a willingness to work with various systems and show competency with Excel
  • You will also be someone who is thorough with high attention to detail, a super organised approach and ability to prioritse your workload with efficiency
