Tēnā Koutou! Malo e lelei! Kia orana! Talofa Lava! Fakatalofa atu! Bula! Fakaalofa atu Malo ni!
Emerge Aotearoa is a diverse organisation and we believe that our kaimahi can best deliver to our multicultural whanau by sharing in some of the culture and connections that they have to offer.
As a social services and health & disability organisation, what sets us apart from others is our kaimahi and the experience and knowledge that they bring - life experience, on the job experience, learnt experiences through placements and study, and cultural experience and knowledge.
This varied experience is invaluable to our organisation.
Our kaimahi all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of rehabilitation to help people to live as independently as possible.
About the Role :
You will provide support to Pasifika clients living in the community in both Waitemata and Auckland districts.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of Pasifika families in the community to help them to reconnect and live as independently as possible.
You will support Tangata Whaiora to achieve their personal goals through a focus on client strengths and by implementing best practice interventions and rehabilitation strategies.
We expect you to have a thorough insight into Pasifika culture, language and identity, particularly insight around how to be culturally respectful.
You will be a 'glass half full' type of person, with a positive outlook on an ever changing, evolving environment and with professional boundaries at the top of your list.
Sometimes faced with challenging behaviour, you will utilise your calmness and sense of humour to engage and empathise with clients and be quick to think on your feet with how to deal with situations when whanau become unwell and are in need of support.
