The New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) is currently recruiting for IT Security Advisors in Wellington. Working across the NZIC, you will play a vital part of a dynamic and agile team responsible for improving the protective security capability.
As an IT Security Advisor, you will be balancing our IT security compliance with national security information requirements, providing advice on projects, mitigating security risks and ensuring Certification and Accreditation of systems is managed by working with system owners and / or their representatives.
You will be a trusted advisor to designated security title holders such as IT Security Managers, Chief Information Security Officers and Chief Security Officers.
Provision of ITSEC education and awareness is a key component of the role to ensure members of the NZIC are well informed of how they can help to protect our information assets.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence / a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken.
Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
