  • We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Crown Entity Monitoring & Appointments team at the Ministry of Health in a senior advisory capacity.

  • Wellington based Mō tō mātou rōpū About our teamThis team sits within the Office of the Director-General and is Wellington-based.
  • The team has two primary functions : maintaining strategic oversight of the performance of Crown entities and managing the appointments process for membership of Crown entities, ministerial committees, boards, tribunals and councils under the relevant legislation.

    The team delivers to a high standard and a keen eye for detail is a valuable asset. The Ministry has embarked on a transformational change programme which is creating some exciting career opportunities.

    Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga What is the purpose of this position?A key focus for the team's senior advisor is assisting in monitoring activities related to the non-DHB health Crown entities and the associated work is delivered in a timely, organised and effective manner.

    The Senior Advisor is also responsible for :

  • supporting health sector appointment proceseses
  • providing quality advice and support for the team
  • undertaking ad hoc or project-based activity to support delivery of the team's wider workplan
  • leading and supporting the drafting and reviewing of briefings, Cabinet papers and correspondence to ensure they are completed to a very high standard.

  • Ability to build collaborative and positive relationships within the team and other Ministry staff will be key.
  • A knowledge of the machinery of Government will assist you, as will your excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Agility and the capability to quickly establish priorities and meet deadlines, think ahead, use initiative and sound judgement and produce written material to a high standard.
