We're building a capability for the global Utility Markets to efficiently manage large volumes of data from yesterdays and tomorrow's meters, integrating with other systems and providing value added services for existing and future customers.

To progress this goal we will be building out an R&D engineering team based across our Melbourne and Auckland offices. We are seeking an Junior Software Engineer to join an existing scrum team.

The team works closely with a Product Owner, Product Manager, and Engineering Lead to ensure we have a product mindset that delivers value in a continuous and sustainable way.

Gentrack is a 500 person, growing business, listed in the public markets of New Zealand and Australia. The main people centers are in London, Auckland, Melbourne and Pune.

In this Role you can expect to :

  • Learn and utilise modern AWS technologies for Continuous Delivery with a DevOps mind set
  • Collaborate with other product teams in Australia, New Zealand, India and the UK
  • Operate the system that you build (Support and maintain data loads, software releases, production support)
  • Actively contribute within a self organising, multi disciplined scrum team, with responsibility across engineering, product quality, QA and documentation
  • Collaborate with the team on design and build of new features
  • What you need to be successful :

  • Some experience in software development using an industry recognised language
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to solve problems and working together to build quality solutions and deliver on time
  • You’re passionate about quality and will have the opportunity to learn about automation of infrastructure, build, tests and operational tasks
  • A passion for personal growth and learning
  • An agile mindset, where you work in sprints to continuously deliver value
  • Golang and, to lesser degree, typescript knowledge will be a bonus. Don’t worry if you have not used it already, you will have an opportunity to learn
  • Any experience with cloud environments is a bonus but not required. You will be on the journey with us and learn heaps
