    Summary

    We are seeking a Psychologist or other Health Professional such as AoD Clinician, Social Worker, Nurse, etc to join our Southern Lakes Real service.

    The position available is 20 hours per week, Monday- Friday. Days and hours are negotiable and flexible.

    This role will commence in January 2021.

    Using a therapeutic approach, our clinicians support young people experiencing issues or challenges that affect their mental health.

    After identifying and meeting their individual health and social care needs, the clinician will then support them to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.

    They take a leading role in implementing the Real wellbeing strategy through innovative ways to improve the health of young people with mental health issues.

    Real Lakes provide primary mental health and addiction services in the community to people aged between 12 and 20. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships - and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.

    The Team

    Based in the idyllic Taupo, you'll be reporting to the team coach and working in a supportive team of three youth workers and five clinicians, working with young people in school and community settings.

    No two days are the same in the Real office, you will have the opportunity to work individually with young people, facilitate groups or be creative in your practice

    We are interested to hear from candidates who have a current New Zealand practicing certificate with a relevant body. Ideally you will have experience working with youth with primary mental health and AOD issues.

    You will have assessment and therapy skills, and group work experience.

    You'll be known for your caring, friendly and approachable manner and be passionate about your professional role and identity.

    You’ll have a passion for supporting youth and will have a non-judgmental approach to working within a diverse population.

  • You'll hold a current New Zealand full driver's licence
  • You’ll hold a current a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
