St John of God Karori is a 36-bed residential hospital level care facility which provides specialist residential and respite support to adults with physical and / or neurological disabilities.

Currently we have a vacancy for an experienced Support Worker for 30 hours per week which is broken down into 5 shifts; Tuesday to Saturday from to will need a minimum of 2 years experience working as a Support Worker at hospital level care and be available to start as soon as possible.

Experience working in the Disability sector will be an advantage.

Essential requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years caregiving experience.
  • Current First Aid Qualification.
  • Minimum of Careerforce Level 3.
  • Sound knowledge of manual handling techniques.
  • Experience supporting clients with Huntingtons disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurons, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke patients and people suffering from Traumatic Brain Injuries.
  • If you are not a NZ Citizen or permanent resident you will require an existing Work Visa and be able to provide two NZ work referees.
