We have more than 300 worksites and support options across the whole Auckland region from Warkworth to Waiuku and the location of this position is Orewa.

In our Community Independent Living, we provide services for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities within their own homes and out into their community.

We provide 1 : 1 support which consists of a range of hours between 6am to 9pm Monday to Sunday. This community support worker role is comprised of permanent part-time hours (12 - 24 hours per week) and we prefer dedicated staff to build long lasting, reliable relationships with the people we support.

The available shifts will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 6 hours per day, between 9 am and 4 pm (with some flexibility) and we are looking for two individuals to share these shifts.

The role will be supporting a female service user and the successful candidate must be willing to drive her in their own vehicle to nearby areas.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a patient listener and some experience with providing disability support, mental health and social work are highly desirable for this role.

Please note we are looking for a person based in Orewa or close near by, as mileage to and from work is not reimbursed.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively and supportively with the people you support, their families and your coordinator
  • To be fit enough for an active role that involves personal cares
  • The ideal candidate will have :

  • Experience supporting people with disabilities and / or challenging behaviours (including disability supports, mental health or social work)
  • Reliability, Commitment, and Passion for working with people
  • A driver's licence
  • A relevant qualification
  • The ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email
