Would you like to work for NZ's largest provider of recreational vehicles across Australia, New Zealand and the USA? Tourism Holdings Ltd ( thl ) is currently searching for a full time Back of House (BOH) Operations Manager to join our busy Christchurch team.

Working closely with the Christchurch Centre Manager, this key position is charged with leading all of the BOH Operational departments including Mechanical Workshop, Detailing, Service and Stores).

Providing these departments with expert operational and strategic planning, and delivery to maximize productivity and process efficiency.

What criteria does our winning candidate possess?

  • At least 3 years' experience with similar job responsibilities within the automotive / fleet industry
  • Financial acumen and Profit and Loss experience
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive systems (vehicle layout, function and parts)
  • Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs
  • Technically knowledgeable in all departmental aspects with the ability to coach, train, develop and motivate others
  • Strong interpersonal, and exceptional communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office application skills
  • Key responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Overall leadership of all employees (between 30 - 60 seasonally), and a team of 4 key direct reports
  • Review of processes, and fleet preparation output by the workshop team and arrange or inspect the quality of repairs before the release of vehicles
  • Ensure all department and company Standard Operating Procedures are understood and communicated to all staff
  • To effectively handle escalation of business issues as a key member of the Christchurch Centre leadership structure
  • Plan and advise annual budget for the department and facilities, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors to perform services required seeking quotes and providing authorised purchase orders through one up approval prior to a vehicles release for repair
  • This is a pivotal, leadership role and as such we are searching for exceptional candidates. The right candidate will have the chance to join our team during a period of great growth at our facility based in Christchurch Airport.
