being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.

You will develop and use data analytics and reporting to enable decision makers to assess and drive logistics strategy and performance.

An initial focus will be on establishing logistics information layers for effective reporting, visualisation and KPI management.

The Data and Analytics Architect will lead and coach Data Analysts and relevant others, working in flexible, responsive and collaborative ways, contributing across all aspects of work as needed, continuously developing their own skills and the expertise and standing of the team.

The Data and Analytics Architect will be self organising and responsible for identification of work required. You will have an independent approach to execution of activities as required by using Agile methodologies, however operate within the priorities as set by Senior Leadership.

The Data and Analytics Architect will lead the development and management of logistics data architecture, governance, analytics, modelling and information flows to support delivery of logistics business improvements.

You will work closely with logistics data owners, custodians and stewards, particularly across DLC, senior logistics users, CIS, Directorate of Knowledge and Information Management (KIMD) and other key stakeholders.

  • You will lead continuous data and reporting improvements and major logistics data projects, using Agile methodologies also collaborate with owners, custodians and stewards to ensure fit for purpose and effective delivery.
  • You will develop and use data analytics and reporting to enable decision makers to assess and drive logistics strategy and performance.

  • To be successful in the role :

  • In-depth expertise with SAP data structures and transaction relationships.
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing effective data strategies, architecture, governance and analytics to meet business needs.
  • Skilled in managing development and delivery of data architecture and governance changes, including the supporting processes, across a large complex business
  • A specific understanding of logistics data would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of new technologies such as cloud and in memory computing and how to grow their use in a large organisation.
  • Skilled at eliciting and understanding stakeholder end-user data issues, requirements and solutions, and translating these into effective action.
  • Demonstrated, strong strategic and analytical problem solving skills including the ability to integrate and make sense of large amounts of complex data and provide relevant insights.
  • Skilled in solution and architecture development processes including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile and OpDev.
  • Sound project and work planning and prioritisation skills, including delivering to deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management, engagement and communication skills, including the ability to adjust to different audiences and situations.
  • Positive and productive collaboration, teamwork, peer leadership and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience and the ability to effectively manage ambiguity.
  • Required Level of Experience :

  • 10+ years’ experience in business analytics, data, and solution architecture and design, including foundational data management domains.
  • Significant experience using SAP Tools such as SAP BW / BO
  • 5+ years’ experience in designing and delivering successful high volume, big data solutions and multi-release information centric projects
  • Substantive background in program logic, including SQL and ABAP
  • Substantive experience eliciting requirements and designing and delivering effective solutions in large, multifaceted, complex businesses
  • Experience in a logistics or equipment management environment would be very advantageous
