As a Specialist Corporate Financial Lines & Casualty Underwriter your key role is to underwrite new business and renewals of high complexity and / or value within set underwriting guidelines, authority levels and service standards.
In this role you will :
Actively manage Corporate Financial Lines and Casualty renewal portfolio and new business targets
Underwrite complex Financial Lines and Casualty risks in accordance with defined limits of authority, organizational policy and underwriting standards
Actively manage strengthen relationships with all stakeholders to deliver business retention, growth and profitability targets
Deliver timely decisions and problem solving solutions to customers and intermediaries
Materially contribute to the development and implementation of the Business Unit’s Business Plan.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders for profitable growth
Monitor, review and comply with all underwriting standards, procedures and processes
Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes
Work in collaboration with all areas of QBE to leverage opportunities
Actively increase and share knowledge of QBE capability, risk appetite and products as well as brokers’ operations to strengthen our delivery of innovative solutions.
Monitor and communicate activity within your portfolio, brokers and competitors and report on opportunities and risks to improve results.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation, best practice, underwriting, systems, products and organizational guidelines
Demonstrate and share an understanding of the market and trends
Lead and model QBE DNA
Contribute to the development, mentoring and managing of Underwriters, Trainees and Assistant Underwriters
Advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills
Building relationships, communicating, negotiating and influencing at a senior level within the insurance industry
Advanced analytical and research skills
Relevant Corporate Financial Lines & Casualty underwriting experience
Strong established customer / broker relationships with Corporate brokers
Advanced knowledge of the industry
Extensive knowledge of relevant market conditions
Working knowledge of risk management, portfolio management and underwriting
