Job Description
AFFCO Moerewa is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineer to join the team in a 2IC position.
This is a full time permanent position that works closely with the Plant Management team including the management of direct reports and overseeing the Engineering department alongside the Plant Engineer.
With multiple projects taking place at site, there is always something different to be involved in!
Responsibilities include :
Coordination and supervision of all fitters, electricians, outside gang and embedded contractors on a day to day basis
Attend to and ensure all breakdowns are a priority for maintenance staff and all breakdowns are minimized
Roster management to ensure adequate cover is provided across all shifts and contractor usage is minimized where possible
Preventative Maintenance is planned routinely to ensure plant and equipment performs at the optimum level
Oversee, along with Plant Engineer and Maintenance Planner, the role out of MEX and the compliance register
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role :
A proactive approach that ensures that production departments experience minimal down time due to maintenance requirements.
Possess strong time management skills in order to prioritise projects when required.
A proactive approach to daily routines, with strong organisational skills.
A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Provides direction and leadership while appropriately delegating responsibilities to ensure ongoing development and effective use of team members.
Ability to fault find and work under pressure
Intermediate computer literacy

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, qualifications and skills :
Trade certificate in engineering / electrical / maintenance or equivalent.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Previous engineering experience in a food processing environment would be an advantage.
Previous experience in Manufacturing Plant Engineering.
