Customer Fulfilment Transformation.About The RoleReporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of projects aligned with business growth strategy.

The role will integrate a project community of many members within the New Zealand Countdown business, supply chain and other project teams within Woolworths based out of Australia.

The Senior Project Manager will lead a large project with the support of subject matter experts across a number of cross-

divisional areas including Stores IT, Property, Procurement, Transport, Safety, Process Improvement and Replenishment. The role will also manage internal and external teams and will include equipment manufacturers, automation suppliers, IT service providers and trade suppliers.

The role is pivotal to the ongoing transformation of Australian and New Zealand online customer fulfilment, with numerous projects in the pipeline.

The main support office is based in Auckland but the breadth of projects will see the role working also in Christchurch.

  • Responsibilities will include but not be limited to : Scoping out the work (by site) together with business owners, SMEs and automation vendors;
  • Developing a project timeline by partnering with relevant stakeholders in the cross divisional program of work and working in with Group level milestones;
  • Working closely with all relevant business areas to ensure a high level of engagement and acceptance of the changes related to the project or projects;
  • Leading the project team, providing guidance, mentoring and coaching of team members, and ensuring safety compliance at all times;
  • Providing weekly status reports, managing project schedule, risks and issues, resources and costs;Coordinating with the relevant teams on systems or site tests leading to customer acceptance of various stages of the delivered functionality;
  • Co-managing change readiness activities with the support of a Change Manager;Ensuring compliance with relevant contracts for all key deliverables;
  • Coordinating the assurance activities on site with various business groups;Complying with the Woolworths project management framework;
  • andAbout YouThis is a critical, senior level position requiring a seasoned, professional Project Manager, used to successfully delivery multi-

    million dollar projects. Woolworths NZ have customers are at the heart of everything we do, if you’re the sort of individual who takes accountability and strives to always do the right thing, this contract role could be for you.

  • Your experience will likely reflect : Demonstrated experience in the delivery of large end-to-end projects involving various business areas;
  • Working knowledge of the development and construction of stores or large facilities (Distribution Centres or similar), is desirable;
  • Experience working with automation suppliers, e.g Vanderlande, Dematic, Schaeffer, Swisslog or Witron is desirable.;Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation and with suppliers;
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders;Project management qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma of Project Management or above);
  • Experience with or exposure to retail, supply chain, transport, freight or manufacturing industryAbility to focus on the details while maintaining an understanding of the big picture;
  • andThe confidence to work autonomously.This is a key role, critical to enabling the Customer 1st strategy for Woolworths NZ as we continue to innovate and lead retailing.
