    Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

    Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Fixed Term Client Service Adviser to join the team (June 2021 May 2022).

    The Client Service team are the front face of the university and works co-operatively and proactively to deliver effective support services to students and the wider University community.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide a welcoming and integrated quality customer service experience tailored to the needs and requirements of each customer.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of all our products and processes to support an exceptional customer service experience.
  • Provide high quality advice at the frontline, including advice on the admission and enrolments process and first year course selection (available from published sources).
  • Collect, define and maintain knowledge from across the university and record it in the knowledge base in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Student Service Centres by working rostered duties between the front-facing Info Ihonui and the back office contact center.

    You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent service delivery and enjoy supporting students to help them succeed.

    You will thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people. This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding, and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.

    You will pick up new skills, knowledge, and software quickly and be able to adapt to a changing environment. You will proactively be able to create good working relationships with key staff and know the importance of seeking feedback to continually improve the service you deliver.

    Key Requirements :

  • Ability to communicate in an effective and friendly manner with a multicultural client base.
  • Previous experience of a strong client-centric approach to delivering excellent customer service or client services.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
