Our Nelson team is currently looking for a Senior Planner. You will work closely with a team of consultants to provide planning input into a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
This role would suit someone with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant planning experience. This is a great opportunity for a driven and motivated individual to further develop their skills in a successful environmental consulting firm.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Nelson team to :
Develop and manage marine consent and resource consent applications.
Lead multi-disciplinary projects and / or consent applications.
Work on large multi-disciplinary projects providing planning advice in conjunction with other technical disciplines and inputs such as acoustics, oceanography, economics, and environmental monitoring.
Build relationships internally and externally with peers, clients, stakeholders and regulators.
Continue Business Development throughout New Zealand growing into different sectors and new clients.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To do this effectively you’ll have :
University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Planning with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience.
Full membership of the NZPI (or eligibility to apply).
Proven capability and experience in managing complex technical projects and coordinating input from other consultants in a clear and concise way.
Existing relationships with regulators and clients will be highly regarded.
Prior experience managing multi-disciplinary resource consent applications.
Proven experience working in the Coastal Marine Area or Exclusive Economic Zone.
Prior experience working on projects involved with the oil and gas industry.
Broad network of contacts, can use own initiative to contribute towards the success of the team and the business
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
A clean driver’s licence.
Willingness to travel domestically to undertake project work, meetings, stakeholder engagement or attendance at hearings.
New Zealand citizenship / working rights are essential.
