Our Democratic Services Team is looking for a talented Elected Member Support Advisor to support and assist our elected members.

This is your chance to shape a new role working with elected members to connect them to the organisation and community.

Key responsibilities / abilities

  • Provide advisory support, information services, as well as administrative support to our elected members.
  • build strong relationships and work closely with the elected members to understand their priorities and ward issues.
  • become a trusted advisor to elected members in recognition of their status as 'key stakeholders' within the organisation.
  • liaise with senior management and other elected members requiring a sound understanding of protocols in this environment.
  • Success in this role requires :

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience support role preferably in a political or governance context.
  • Highly developed written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Political sensitivity and discretion with confidentiality and impartiality.
  • High level of computer literacy and the ability to process large amounts of information with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and organisational skills.

    Customer service experience and relationship management are key for this role and you'll have the communication skills and attitude needed to provide this at a high level
