The successful applicant will ideally be a qualified marine technician from a reputable technical institute. Failing that, the applicant should have at least 10 years of on-
the-job experience in the field of outboard motor repairs, maintenance and installation from a recognised dealership (preferably a Mercury Marine dealer) and have a comprehensive record of technical training.
The candidate must possess the following attributes and experience :
Qualifications in all marine outboard motor systems, including rigging and general fit-up requirements such as 12-volt installations of lights, pumps, and ancillary equipment
Must be well experienced in the latest range of Mercury Outboards, including EFI four stroke and Verado products
Experience in the latest outboard diagnostic equipment for Mercury Marine (CDS and G3) products would be a huge advantage
Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work in a team, whilst demonstrating some leadership qualities when and where needed
Experience as a foreman or workshop supervisor in a marine workshop would also be an advantage
Must have strong English skills, both oral and written
Finally, competent computer skills are essential to this role, as you may be required to perform office-related tasks as part of the job.
The candidate will be required to work under the following arrangement :
Must be able to work overtime when required (this is not often)
Must be able to relocate to Vanuatu for a minimum of 3-year contract (repatriation funds will be available to the successful candidate)
Accommodation will be provided
Holidays would be restricted to only 3-weeks a year
