About this role
Our Senior Financial Accountant is part of a small Finance team in the Corporate Group, providing the opportunity to work within the depth and breadth of the Financial responsibilities in a public agency.
They will be supported by the Finance Manager and Finance Administrator to collectively deliver the organisations financial functions. They will :
lead on a number of fixed financial processes such as regular period end reporting (month-end, quarter-end and year-end)
lead on the financial contribution to accountability documentation such as Annual Report, Statement of Intent and Statement of Performance Expectations
work closely with the Senior Advisor Planning and Performance on business plans
educate and engage with stakeholders on the internal budget and forecasting processes
provide financial analysis and advice to Senior Leaders and management.

With this role we are looking for someone who :
is an experienced (3+ years) qualified financial accountant (CA / CPA preferred) with sustained professional development
can demonstrate an understanding of the public sector environment in which Taumata Arowai operates within
will partner with the business to provide support and guidance to enable accurate budgeting, forecasts and financial reporting
has the ability to adopt a strategic and long term approach to their work.
