  • This key role within the City Development Team influences a wide spectrum of planning, engagement and advisory aspects on diverse infrastructure planning, funding, growth and development.

    The team enables the crucial link between the Developer community and Council, and collectively the team's ideas and tactical plans help Council to shape the City by leveraging great community outcomes for current and future generations.

    This is a complex role which requires a professional with considerable knowledge and breadth of experience in housing intensification, urban development and integrated infrastructure funding activities.

    The demands of the role require outstanding relationship management and communication skills, high technical competence along with effective negotiation and influencing skills.

    Being development and politically savvy you understand the importance to engage with multiple parties on complex topics.

    We are looking for someone with a high level of development experience with a knowledge of the full property cycle, along with facilitation and relationship skills underpinned by a portfolio of technical knowledge including RMA, Local Government Act, and relevant planning and funding methodologies.

    You will have a qualification in either Valuation, Engineering, Surveying, Planning, Architecture or a related field as well as experience in working to match growth and infrastructure planning in the private or public sector.

    The primary focus of this role is to undertake residential and business capacity assessments and implement the Intensification Action Plan.

    In conjunction with your fellow team of creative professionals, you will develop solutions providing quality input, feasibility and infrastructure development advice on exciting strategically important core Council projects and thrive on collegial participation in cross-Council business unit collaboration.
