Dunedin Hospital

Part time to Full time, fixed term

An application from a generally trained clinical neurologist to join our team in a fixed term role for up to 18 months, we have the flexibility to offer between 20 to 40 hours per week so this maybe just the chance you’ve been looking for to take a step back for a year.

Working at Dunedin Hospital you will provide a full range of neurological services alongside enthusiastic colleagues. This may include contributing to clinical neurophysiology and botulinum clinics.

Dunedin Hospital is a 388 bed University Hospital providing care for a population of approximately 300,000 spread over a large area of the lower South Island of New Zealand.

Our Neurology service provides both inpatient and outpatient services to our community and you will contribute to outreach clinics at regional hospitals in the southern region.

An acute service for emergencies is provided 24 hours day, so your role has a 1 : 5 on-call rota.

Outside of work, you’ll find life in Dunedin to be very easy with its affordable living, great schools, laid back lifestyle and world-

famous wildlife on the Otago Peninsula. The town centre is compact but has plenty of energy, which is to be expected with it being a University town.

This sustains some great activities such as theatre, live-music and a diverse selection of restaurants and cafés. Central Otago is a notable holiday destination and many outdoor recreation opportunities are easily accessible from Dunedin.

You will need to have the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent qualification and must hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that from 1 November 2017 it will be the requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.

If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible so as to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.

Closing Date : Sunday 9 September 2018
