The Role

Spotless has the Contract with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for Facilities Maintenance and Management in the Central Region of the North Island encompassing activities at the three main bases, Linton Military Camp, RNZAF Base Ohakea and Waiouru Military Training Area, the National Army Museum, and several satellite sites where we deliver a suite of services to support Defence capability.

We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to be based at Waiouru Military Training Area.

This Full Time role will report to the Contract Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the success of the NZDF Contract by :

  • Managing a diverse team of employees and sub-contractors to deliver outstanding results
  • Ensuring scheduled and unscheduled maintenance works and all other operational activity meets or exceeds Contract KPIs
  • Ensuring services are delivered to a high quality and within budget
  • Provision of financial and operational reporting
  • Completion of invoicing
  • Procurement of materials
  • Ensuring rosters are in place and provide for the effective delivery of services, including 24 / 7 emergency coverage
  • Maintaining work reference history information including asset condition ratings and life cycle maintenance plans
  • Adherence to compliance of company policy and procedures, statutory and environmental requirements, and industry standards
  • Building productive relationships with client and stakeholders
  • Skills and Experience. With such a challenging role, you will come to us with :

  • Relevant professional or technical tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience in building / trade services and or electrical mechanical services
  • Experience in building services industry
  • Asset Management experience
  • Proven ability in maintaining effective customer relationships, preferable within an outsourced environment
  • Successful people management
  • Experience with computer based work management systems
  • Experience working with budget and profit / loss reports
  • Outstanding administration, planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • The right to work in New Zealand and the ability to obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance.
  • Current Drivers licence
