    The opportunity

    We have delivered many of New Zealand’s key projects in the Central New Zealand region including the Mackays to Peka Peka and Peka Peka to Otaki motorway extensions for Waka Kotahi, Beltway Cycleway for Hutt City Council and Main Wharf North replacement for Port Nelson.

    We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer - Geometric Design to join our Central Infrastructure team based in Wellington.

    This role will include working with key clients in the transport infrastructure sector to deliver medium to large projects in the region.

    There will also be opportunities to work on other projects throughout New Zealand.

    Every day will provide you with new challenges and look a little different, overall, this role will see you :

  • Be responsible for managing the production of civil geometric designs and design reports for projects such as airports, roads and land development.
  • Be able to collaboratively undertake conceptual designs through to detailed design, contract procurement and construction administration with a team.
  • Be responsible for delivering projects on time and to budget, while meeting clients’ needs and expectations.
  • Seek continuous improvement in the design process, including the use of new technology.
  • Provide support in developing proposals.
  • Have a sound knowledge of Austroads and NZTA standards.
  • Develop and foster client relationships that contribute to repeat business.
  • About you

    You love to learn and share knowledge and someone who can bring a fresh perspective to ensure the development of the people around them and who constantly seeks better practice for the overall quality of our work and our client experience.

    You are an experienced engineer with a track record in leading teams through road infrastructure design, tender documentation and construction administration.

    You have gained this experience through being in a consulting engineering environment or a similar local government role where you have mastered your skills in a 3D software such as Civil3D or 12d.

    Self-motivated, you strive for technical excellence and exceeding client expectations. You are passionate about developing and motivating others, whilst ensuring that the team works collaboratively to meet project deliverables.
