Based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre, this person will work across Tamaki Makaurau for T ū Māia (formerly Regional Youth Forensic Service (RYFS)) a speciality services at Auckland District Health Board.
T ū Māia is a regional multi-disciplinary team whose primary role is the assessment of children and adolescents involved in the Youth Justice system, preparing formal reports on their cultural and / or mental health needs for the Courts and other agencies, and providing short term therapies and consultation to a small number of young people.
We also provide clinical and cultural services to young people in secure residential care.
T ū Māia work with high numbers of Maori and Pacific young people and their whanau / aiga, to best deliver services that will meet the cultural needs of our clients we are looking for a full time Maori / Pacific Island Cultural Advisor to join our busy multidisciplinary team.
This is a new position full time due to growth in the service, and will work alongside Maori / Pacific Cultural advisors already in place across T ū Māia .
We are looking for dynamic individual who ideally has experience in child and adolescent work, and / or child youth and family services.
Knowledge of cultural support services and wrap around models of care would be an advantage. You will and be able to provide cultural support and expertise to our team, participating with a clinician in mental health assessments and treatment for young people who present to the service, and work collaboratively with other team members and other services.
Part of this role will include Court reports and a high standard of writing is required.
