About the role
The Senior Advisor helps enable Investment Policy's three priorities :
This role is to support (and at times lead) the development of the forthcoming Investment Attraction Strategy (targeting high quality foreign direct investment that contributes to a more productive, sustainable, and inclusive economy).
This role involves both strategic and practical ideas and advice.
On a daily basis you would build relationships amongst key stakeholders (especially from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and MBIE's Innovative Partnerships), consider a wide range of views on the latest investment attraction thinking, and provide recommendations to Ministers that are both principled and practical.
The fixed-term is to cover parental leave, and the position could be focused exclusively on the strategy for a part-timer, or scoped more expansively for a full-timer.
Either way the job is to connect well with other people and priorities in the Investment Policy Team, and with stakeholders
About you :
You are likely to have experience in sometimes complex policy formulation and possibly also in investment policy and economics.
Your well-practiced skill set and work style should work in harmony with our team.
About MBIE :
