About the Team
South Community Mental Health Team is one of two teams providing assessment, support and treatment for people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness to the people of Dunedin and surrounding areas.
The multi-disciplinary Team is made up of 35 individual staff, is based on the Wakari Hospital campus and provides outpatient and home based outreach services.
About the Role / About You
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and skilled Registered Nurse or Mental Health Professional to join the South Community Mental Health Team in the Charge Nurse Manager / Clinical Manager role for a fixed term of up to 12 months.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high levels of clinical skill. They will show a clear understanding of the principles underpinning mental health and addiction assessment and treatment and provide effective management and strong but collaborative leadership to the team.
Previous management and clinical leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
Key accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to
will have a relevant post graduate qualification, and proven success in leadership in health related environment, which will complement their experience in, and knowledge of clinical quality, safety and best practice.
Due to the natural challenges that come with a position that sees you managing staff across a range of professional disciplines it is essential that you have exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills in this role.
You must be IT savvy and enjoy the coordination of individuals and groups.
