The National Operations team is pivotal to public safety. The team's support services ensure that there is a high level of coordination across national operational activity.
The team is responsible for managing (amongst other things) the round-the-clock electronic monitoring of offenders in the community.
In addition the Manager National Operations leads work to ensure the prison population is appropriately managed with a focus on safety and rehabilitation.
This position provides the opportunity to showcase your leadership capability as you encourage participation, engagement and commitment from your team with focus on delivering improved services to best meet frontline business needs.
To this end you will communicate and present strategy in a way that enables your team to make decisions about their practice, consistent with intended direction, and lead the team to adopt strategy and change initiatives.
Imperative to your success in this position will be your ability to think laterally and conceptually whilst keeping abreast of operational detail.
Responsible for contributing a national Operations Support perspective to Corrections Services' strategic planning, you will demonstrate the ability to identify potential risk and flow on effects arising from proposed decisions, ensuring effective assessment and analysis and develop robust plans to address them.
This is a senior leadership role and one which requires high levels of commitment. To be successful you will need to build strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders therefore you will be able to communicate complex concepts, influence and persuade appropriately and engage at all levels.
