Help us build New Zealand! PlaceMakers is New Zealand’s leading and largest supplier of building materials to the commercial and residential construction markets.

We are part of the New Zealand Distribution Division of Fletcher Building which also spans Mico and Forman and sees us with a vast national network of branches and sites across NZ.

As we strive to be the best in our industry, we are looking to leverage our systems and build better capability to collate, analyse, review and utilise data to create insights which will in turn inform decisions and future strategies.

Based at our Penrose National Office and reporting to our GM of Digital & Transformation, this is a brand new greenfields role and you will quickly be able to develop this function and grow your team.

We will be looking for you to develop the Data and Insights strategy, priorities and plans, which will be aligned with the PlaceMakers business Strategy as well as the Divisional and Fletcher Building Group strategies.

You will be accountable for the cleansing and transformation of the organisation’s raw data into a useable and consumable format the outcome of which will be the ability to provide high quality data on demand across the business.

Between you and your team, you will develop, implement and enhance effective management reports and dashboards to be used across the business, ensuring optimum feedback loops are in place to ensure the continued relevancy of the data presented.

In order to ensure a common understanding of how the organisation approaches analytics and the creation of models, you will need to define what standards the visualisation and analytical models should meet.

This will include report / model management and validation, standards and tools, analytical repositories, data quality management as well as Metadata, master data and data lifecycle managementThe stakeholder management component of this cannot be underestimated as it will be both vertical, horizontal and you will need to influence across multiple functions.

Any part of the business with a dataflow of any kind will be within your scope in order to create a centralised view and opportunity to truly lead the business on its transformation journey to evidence based decision-making and the strategic use data.

The successful person will be experienced at a senior leadership level with a good number of years of expertise in a similar role in a large organisation with a change / transformation story of its own.

  • Data management and analytics SLAs
  • Enterprise and functional data and analytics strategy
