We are looking for an experienced Quarry Operator to join our crew at the Geraldine Lime Quarry.

About the role :

The hands-on role requires you to be responsible ensuring that all aspects of our Fixed Plant or Mobile Plant are maintained to a high level through excellent housekeeping, repairs, and maintenance.

You will be required to look after the effective, efficient operation of the processing plant and its machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality lime.

You will have previous experience in operating a front-end loaders and working on a mobile plant or fixed processing plant.

Geraldine Lime is busy quarry so there is a possibility of seasonal shift work involved, but there may also be the opportunity to work in different areas of the business throughout the year or in one of our other quarries situated around the South Island.

About You :

Your desire to get home safely will drive your high commitment to all health & safety practices. You will already have experience in safely operating heavy machinery including bulldozers, loaders, excavators, ATD dump trucks.

Skills and Experience :

  • Experience with driving front end loaders or operating heavy machinery
  • Previous Quarry or Mining experience
  • A commitment to following all health and safety requirements
  • Initiative and willingness to get stuck in and learn
  • A valid NZ Full driver's license
  • Reasonable physical fitness and able to lift heavy objects
  • Ideal but not essential :

  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic repair work is a bonus
  • Mobile plant or fixed processing plant experience is beneficial
  • A relevant B Grade Quarry Manager Certificate or working towards one would be an advantage
