About this role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Engineering team based in Auckland .

As part of the NZ Infrastructure team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to geotechnical engineering. The focus of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer is to advise our client how best to deal with the geotechnical risk and provide them with appropriate and cost-effective solutions.

What will I do?

  • This will include;
  • Carrying out research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of ground conditions at the project site;
  • Planning and managing site investigations and laboratory testing programmes;
  • Developing and implementing site safety management plans covering site investigation works;
  • Preparing and overseeing detailed geotechnical reports and construction activities to ensure the quality of construction; and
  • Assisting the Geotechnical team with fostering strong working relationships with developing client relationships and mentoring geotechnical team members.
  • What will I bring?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar area with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in geotechnical design and construction;
  • Proven track record in the field of geotechnical design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types;
  • Experience in the operation of the following software design tools such as Slide(or similar), Roc-Support, PLAXIS 2D / 3D, and various other geotechnical design packages will be advantageous; and
  • Strong leadership skills and enthusiasm to develop the team skills overall into new areas.
