Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou : What we offer
Auckland is a rapidly growing region. This growth brings huge opportunity, but also many challenges to ensure that growth is sustainable and resilient to the impacts of a changing climate.
In response to these challenges and opportunities, the region has established a vision of Auckland for the future through the Auckland Plan and set bold aspirations for climate action, through Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri : Auckland’s Climate Plan, including halving regional emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
Auckland is also an active member of key leadership networks such as the global C40 Cities Leadership Group and New Zealand’s Climate Leaders Coalition.
Ensuring the region is strategically aligned to deliver on these sustainability commitments is the key focus for the Chief Sustainability Office.
