Permanent Part time (14 hours per week) Middlemore Hospital has an opportunity for a part-time qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our InPatient Dispensary (IPD).

Come and join our friendly pharmacy team! As one of the largest tertiary teaching hospitals in New Zealand, work as a pharmacy technician in our IPD team offers a variety of tasks and responsibilities.

In our busy department, every day is different. Pharmacists and technicians work together to respond to the work in the main dispensary.

On the wards, technicians work alongside ward staff to maintain their own areas and keep up with medication supply demands.

For this, confidence in own ability and independent working are essential. The role will be supported by the dispensary team.

You will also work closely with clinical pharmacists and ward staff. Previous hospital experience is not necessary but is preferred.

  • Eligible to work as a pharmacy technician. You must hold a National Certificate in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician) level 5 issued by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
  • Attention to detail as accuracy is critical

  • Motivated and efficient worker

  • Ability to work with minimum level of supervision
  • Available to work flexible hours including rostered weekends as overtime
