We are seeking a Registered Nurseto join the Hauraki Thames Coromandel District Nursing team primarily based in theWAIHI AREA.
District Nursing is a combinationof home visiting and clinic based work. The District Nurse Service providesservices 7 days a week, 0800 - 1630hr, and can include on call after hours from1630 0800hrs for select patients.
You may be required to accommodate afterhours on call requirements which may involve call outs. This role is not suitablefor a new graduate nurse.
Rural District Nursing provides awide variety of care including long term medical conditions, home basedpalliative and end of life care, advanced IV management and chronic woundmanagement within a multi-disciplinary environment inclusive of primary healthcare providers.
An understanding of improving health outcomes is essential andan ability to work within a variety of home / social & cultural demographics.
Our area covers a largegeographical area and the ability to drive long distances during the work dayis essential.
We work with many other healthproviders within the Community setting and relationship building is anessential part of our service.
Familiarisation with and use of electronicdevices and computer skills is an essential part of this role
An education and orientationprogramme will be provided.
