About the role :

As the Store Manager of our Lower Hutt store, you will be joining a passionate and knowledgeable team who are committed to making the world a happier place through the love of pets.

  • This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday
  • Lead a team of 16+ staff
  • Maximise the growth and operations of the store through driving sales activities and demonstrating service excellence
  • Analyse and interpret sales reports, and develop action plans to achieve key performance targets
  • Coach, motivate and develop the team to new levels of success
  • Actively build employee engagement in your store
  • About you :

    Your proven leadership, people management skills and passion for retail will enable you to provide effective support and coaching for your team, manage the day-to-day operations of the store, control wages and costs, exceed sales targets and ultimately grow your store.

    We provide support, coaching, training and tools to help our people succeed, however to thrive in this role, our successful candidate should have :

  • Previous management experience, ideally leading a small to medium sized team
  • Energy and drive to lead, coach and inspire your team to provide outstanding customer service
  • Comprehensive understanding and proven experience of developing people and managing performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound operational and merchandising knowledge and experience
  • An exceptionally friendly manner to build a regular customer base and grow sales
  • A love of animals!
