Ko te kaupapa About the role

We are an organisation focused on our journey of becoming Tiriti-dynamic and are looking for someone to lead the implementation of the strategic direction of Te Hiringa Hauora during the implementation of the Health and Disability System Reforms.

This role will report to the Kai Okohāpai (General Manager Te Tiriti and Equity) and also work closely with Ngā Kaihautū (Executive Team).

The role will be accountable for delivering :

  • Statement of Intent and will hold key stakeholder relationships, particularly with the Ministry of Health, to ensure Te Hiringa Hauora is set up to achieve its strategic priorities.
  • Work in partnership with the Financial Controller, Business Planner and the Ministry of Health Monitoring team to ensure that our monitoring of key organisational outcomes align to key health sector priorities.
  • Scope, plan and implement strategic and policy projects, applying robust analysis, including impact assessment and risk, implementation and evaluation considerations in relation to the Health and Disability System Reforms.
  • Work with the Kai Okohāpai (GM Te Tiriti and Equity) to encourage and embed Te Tiriti-dynamic capability and work practices in the strategic priorities and programmes.

  • Extensive experience in providing input into complex business issues and assisting in aligning multiple teams towards our strategic direction
  • Understanding of and experience drawing on Te Tiriti o Waitangi in strategic and policy settings
  • Proven critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking, including the ability to generate new frameworks and come up with new approaches
  • Knowledge of government processes including policy development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
