We are currently seeking expressions of interest for roles that will help to deliver major NZ infrastructure projects.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned projects. This requires preparing, planning, executing and controlling all aspects of the project either directly or through delegation with the project team.

Successful delivery requires monitoring and controlling financials, works schedule, resources (including subcontractors) as well as managing the project stakeholders (internal and external).

The projects involve challenging and highly technical, functional and contractual requirements and require a strategic thinker with a proven ability to provide strong team leadership, expert technical knowledge and customer relationship management to achieve project outcomes.

This role is the lead the Large Project delivery with reporting responsibility to the Project Director, Global Major Projects and NZ General Manager

  • Key Accountabilities include;
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the delivery of complex projects to the required quality, schedule and budget
  • Ensures delivery of project is on time, within scope with zero or positive deviation.
  • Manage the contractual requirements of the project to ensure disputes with subcontractors and clients are mitigated or timeously resolved and thereby protecting Honeywell’s entitlement and further reserving our rights under the Head Contract or Subcontract
  • Manage the project contracts including development of subcontracts, vendor scopes of work, valuing / certifying payments, valuing variations, accepting finished works, and resolving and negotiating
  • Developing trust and managing the relationship with customers and ensuring a shared understanding of key issues between all parties is maintained.
  • Honeywell's exposure is minimised and controlled through timely responses and internal escalation.
  • Produce and maintain appropriate project management documentation including project plan, communication plan, project reports, implementation plans, project schedules and meeting agendas / minutes.
  • Drive the project team to minimise the cost of labour in delivering a successful project through effective resource management and low- cost resources while minimising defects and rework.
  • Business growth - Identify and pursue in conjunction with the account manager any further business opportunities with the customer.

  • Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge;
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or ICT are preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management are preferred
  • Further education in management or project management advantageous
  • Direct Project Management history of +$1OM projects
  • Thorough knowledge of leading and developing a projects field operation and financial management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others
  • Proven experience in project management including budget ownership / management, resource allocation,scheduling, forecasting and planning.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a team.
  • Capacity to deliver against multiple objectives.
  • Strong customer relation skills with total commitment to customer satisfaction.
