Our aim is to save the Rarest of the Rare by supporting high priority conservation projects that protect New Zealand’s most vulnerable indigenous species and habitats from extinction.
We provide sustainable financial support through an endowment fund. These funds are distributed to support experts in the management of vulnerable species and habitats to undertake results-
oriented projects, with the support of New Zealanders.To ensure we deliver on our purpose we are looking for someone to join our team as General Manager.
As GM, you will provide overall leadership and management of ESFNZ through delivering on our strategic objectives, as set by the Board of Trustees.
A key priority and focus of the role will be on fundraising and sponsorship and you will develop and maintain productive sponsor and donor relationships, as well as ensure the long-
term sustainability of our organisation.To be successful in this role you will : Deliver sustainable donor funding through key projects, endowment funds, and general public donationsSecure sponsorship income to ensure the ongoing success of key projects and eventsDeliver on key strategies, in particular the leading and development of key projects (e.
g. Maui Dolphin)Co-ordinate the approval of the strategic plan and deliver budget figuresBuild strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Board and team membersYour experience : Knowledge or experience of fundraising, particularly major donor and bequest programmes and donor stewardshipExperience in strategic messaging, media engagement and public speakingExcellent administrative, financial and computer literacy skillsStrong background in ensuring key relationships are fostered across all sectors of New Zealand’s communities, as well as an understanding of commitments to Tiriti o WaitangiDemonstrated record of first class oral and written communication abilitiesRelevant professional qualification, ideally in Marketing, Communications and / or ManagementThis is a part-
